The City Never Sleeps

Hmmm, just to be fair to the city where we live, I’m doing a post (or two…?) on Dubai, since I’ve just recently written about Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and heck! Even Bahrain.

Dubai never sleeps. (Especially so during Ramadan. But this ain’t about the holy month, since Eid has passed, and it’s back to the old hectic days…) But for the night birds and party lovers, there’s another side of Dubai that you …I seldom see. (At this age, I treasure my sleep more than the silly things I used to stay awake for, hehehe…)

Here goes.

And so, Dubai has a waterfall, …from a friggin bridge! Lighted up in purple! It’s part of the Dubai Canal, and the water curtain can automatically turn off to allow boats to pass thru… (as in this case). Cool, huh?

Al Sahra Desert Resort… compliments of our niece Karishma and the company she used to work for, Tour Dubai. Normally, you’d have to pay a bomb for this, but Tour Dubai’s staff sometimes get discounts, etc. especially during the quieter months. Arranged during Sweety and dad’s visit in the summer of 2017

Emaar (the UAE developer of Burj Khalifa and etc) decided to throw a free party for families, an open air theatre. (It’s actually a gimmick, in conjunction with the launch of their new housing development, Dubai Hills). But what the heck, we had some fun haha. Anu, at the Emaar Dubai Hills Estate. "Maybe that metal egg at City Walk (see above) teleports to this technicolour ball?!?"
