Below the Fish's Tail

Phewa Tal (Phewa Lake) with Machhapuchhare (Fish’s Tail, the peak in the middle) in the background, Pokhara, Nepal

Here’re some recent photos, instead of my usual photos of long-lost years and months. These are from our trip to Nepal during the Christmas season last year. Pokhara is Nepal’s second most famous city, after Kathmandu. Besides that, I really have nothing to write about, my entire concentration is only on this stupid Project which I’m trying to complete. What a life!

Our little trek up to the Peace Pagoda in Pokhara. This is the only trek we had time and energy to do, especially with the little monster in tow

Our Favourite Dubai Hangout

Anu at Carrefour, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai

Here're more photos of Dubai. This is of the Mall of the Emirates (MOE in short), where we spent most of our weekends. Heck, it's the nearest shopping mall near where we stay hehe...

In Search of Ice

Yours truly ala Snowy Mountain Flying Fox (Shued San Fey Woo), Thajiwas Glazier, Sonamarg, Kashmir

There was no snow during our visit to Kashmir in Autumn of 2007, much to the disappointment of Anu, so off we went in search of ice.

Anu cooking a pot of Maggi noodles... yeah, no food is available up here, but Maggi, but at double the price. And a hot bowl of Maggi does wonders in a chilly place like this

Meadow of Gold

Sonamarg, Kashmir in Autumn. Sonamarg means Gold Meadow and is located on the road to Ladakh

It’s bloody freezing in India currently, North India is like below zero, which is rare. Pune itself in Western India near Mumbai, where we’re at now, is I think about 10 in the morning. Kashmir, will well be below freezing, all white and snowing. Just 2 weeks ago, many were stranded in Kashmir due to snowfall blocking the highway connecting it to the rest of India.

Anyway, here’s Kashmir in gentler times (Autumn 2007)

Helen in Dubai 2 – In the footsteps of Ibn Battuta

Jiko in the Indian Court, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai

This is to proof that not only movies can have sequels. Helen can have one too. Anyway, Happy New Year! We don’t have photos of our recent adventures yet, so I’m putting past photos for viewing. These were taken exactly one year ago, when she was baby sitting little Justin.

Ibn Battuta, by the way, was a famous adventurer from the Middle East in the 12th century, in the likes of Marco Polo. He travelled further than Marco Polo.

Jiko and Admiral Zheng He (Laksamana Cheng Ho) - This mall in Dubai pays tribute to the well-known seafarer although he had never set foot in Dubai. Compare this to some of us in Malaysia, who'd prefer to remove him altogether from our history books. ...Sad

Happy Birthday Chaubabi

Justin 6 months old, Dubai

Our little monster is one year old now. Time moves so fast. Too bad I can't be with him and his mommy to celebrate his first year birthday thanks to the foggy weather in Silchar. They were supposed to fly out to join me on 29th Nov, but the flight was cancelled due to bad weather... Just my luck.

I'm leaving some pictures here for the benefit of my family in Malaysia who're wondering how he's grown.

Our fabulous Dubai life

The Kings of the UAE, in a shop, Dubai Mall

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end... Not to say that we're not good now, but it's different here, in Daund, ...very different, but that is another story. For the time being here's a glimpse of our life in Dubai.
